I know a great deal about what he's been up to locally. Sources close to Madore are keeping me, well, informed.
That said, the situation in Washougal is heating up, and Mike Briggs, who has been a target of Russell's efforts to discredit him (Primarily though fake identifications in comment sections of various publications) weighs in:.
Mike Briggs · Top Commenter · Works at Civic ActivistThis was in a PSA, a League article update about a candidate forum for Washougal City Council.I wouldn't miss the Washougal forum for the world! The Washougal City Council has been in such an uproar for the last two years with the attempted uber-Conservative-take over attempt by Jon Russell and "The Four". Two of those infamous Four will be up there making their speeches, Michael Delavar and Jennifer McDaniel. Of course with an added attempt by Connie Jo Freeman who is Russell's pick to overthrow the favorite, Molly Coston. Newcomer to the group, local girl Niki Anderson, in an unusual move being promoted by Mayor Sean Guard himself, will be making her debut against the Southern charms of Mrs. McDaniel. But the real show may very well be the experienced and formidable but quiet-like forward thinking intelligence of Joyce Lindsay against the over-the-top Tea Party boy- Michael (Bush) Delavar.
This could be some show!
These kinds of machinations are fascinating. Presuming the accuracy of Briggs' observations, one has to wonder: "Why?"
Russell's efforts to dabble in politics have been uniformly disastrous. Honesty is the best policy and all that, a tenet of faith that Russell seems to have had some difficulty understanding.
I'll certainly be watching these goin's ons... and waiting for the inevitable melt down.
Cross posted at Clark County Politics.
I was incorrect in my assumption that incumbent Michael Delavar and challenger Joyce Lindsay would speak at the forum. This forum was for Primary Election candidates only. Delavar and Lindsay will only compete in the November General Election.
ReplyDeleteAlso Molly Coston could not speak due to a conflict-of-interest issue with her being a member of the League of Women Voters and Niki Anderson did not show up due to a reported emergency with her job at Clark County Sheriff's Dept.
Jon Russell was there visible as he was seen hugging and greeting Connie Jo Freeman's husband but was noticeably quiet during the forum.
The forum was well attempted by Washougal standards.
I look forward to the next League of Women Voters' forum for these candidates for it will be an actual debate for the General Election!

Also, Jon Russell was seen by others to be directing his favorite candidate, Connie JO, by gestures at the back of the room thinking nobody would see him....
ReplyDeleteIt should prove interesting to see if his "help" works for Connie Jo....
