Memo to Jon Russell: Lying about your education.
The most interesting factoid?
27 Representatives and 1 Senator have no degree beyond a high school diploma.
So Jon, when you lied about having a degree, it was totally unnecessary. It clearly didn't make any difference to those elected to the highest levels of government in the country today.
Odd that they could do it without lying, and you couldn't.

Take 2: Jon Russell: With "friends" like these, who needs enemies?
In this case, the "stuff" I've been sent includes a little tidbit that confirms an allegation I made against Russell on June 12: Man: That Russell and his canned letters... a real yuk fest.
Seems he was so desperate to find people who'd lie about him that he actually sent out an email recruiting them.
Now it sucks bad enough if you have to beg people to write letters for you, but something like this?
From: Jon Russell <jonrussell75@gmail.com>Only a "Russell" could provide "pre-written" letters.
Subject: Letters to the editor....Additional Info
To: jon@electjonrussell.com
Date: Saturday, July 10, 2010, 12:56 AM
Dear Supporters,
Time is running short for this primary election. Will you take 5 minutes to write a paragraph or two in support of campaign? If so, I need you write a letter to the editor and send it via email. These letters really matter. Please let me know when you have sent your letter. If you are not a strong writer or don't have the time, we can send you a prewritten letter crafted by one of our volunteers, if you agree with its content you can sign off on it and send it in. Be sure to add your name, phone & address at the bottom on the letter. BCC your letter to the media outlets listed below.
Thanks Jon
Various links.
This particular blurb came from someone named "Chuck."
"Chuck" also sent me a screen capture of Russell's personal Facebook page, where, if you're a "friend," you get to see this:
Yup. Even after have been caught lying about his fake, non-existent college degree, Russell still insists on lying about his education; here claiming to have a 4 year degree in Political Science from Thomas Edison, class of '09.
Pathetic.
Well, politically, it's all going to be over soon. After he loses the primary, he'll soon be facing a recall election from what I hear, and then, of course, the investigations from the Public Disclosure Commission and the State Health people over that fake doctor nonsense his wife's had to deal with...
I get that it sucks to be him. But after he becomes a footnote in this election and in politics generally, it's going to suck a whole lot more.

Russell violates the Public Disclosure Laws.... again.
Among other reporting requirements is the 7 day C4 expenditure reporting requirement that means candidates must report their expenditures 7 days before the primary election date of August 17.
While Russell's ability to follow that law is roughly the same has his ability to tell the truth.... that is, none at all, the fact is that Russell was required to send in that report by COB August 10.
Naturally, Russell, unconcerned by PDC requirements and laws to date, failed to file.
So, I have for the 5th separate time, filed ANOTHER PDC complaint against "teacherjudybanks." Looks like he's got time to post comments under a fake name... but doesn't have time to file the legally required reports.
You've got to wonder two things: why doesn't he believe the law applies to him... and what is he trying to hide?
Like all the others, I'll keep you posted.
Russell can't help himself: resurrects his "alexisclassic" identity on the Columbian.
What did Russell think I was going to do when he lied directly in front of me... nothing?
So, Russell, fully outed over his fake "teacherjudybanks" identity is left to use his fake "alexisclassic" identity to attack me and Rivers once again.
Look, dude, I get that I've knocked you so far off message that it can't even be piped into you with an oil drilling rig.
But this verbal beating on a woman that you so specialize in?
That might work in your house, but it ain't gonna work here.
But that's OK, Jon. in a few days, you'll begin the spiral into the obscurity you so richly deserve.
Tah!

So, Russellians commenting here claim I have no "proof" of the Russell-sockpuppet connection.
Here's what I've got:
A fairly convincing timeline and Russell's own actions in this matter would, I believe, cause any reasonable person to conclude that Russell is, in fact, "teacherjudybanks" AND "alexisclassic."
The teacherjudybanks timeline:
1. "teacherjudybanks" registers and starts posting on the 28th of July.
2. The 28th of July just happens to be the day the ballots start to hit.
3. "teacherjudybanks" then proceeds to engage in a vitriolic and filthy series of lies and innuendo, including comparing the cost of a "corridor" Russell wants to build with the cost of another blogger's viagra.
4. A review of "TJB's" posts all show one recurring theme: Pro-Russell, and almost violently anti-Hinton with a splatter aimed at Rivers.
5. This persona comments on, or about, absolutely nothing else.
6. Then, suddenly out of nowhere, "Judy Banks" comments on Russell's Facebook page about the terrible things "Ann Rivers is doing to him."
7. Russell replies at the same time, based on the Facebook record screen-captured below. Ever seeking to polish his facade of "Christian," Russell replies "Thanks, Judy. Remember, we don't battle against flesh and blood. Pray for them."
8. There are, of course, no coincidences in politics.
9. I look at "Judy Banks" friends on her Facebook page, and discover a collection of fringe left types, including a claimed democrat national committee member and at least one gay rights group friend on the list. I think to myself: why would anyone with friends like this want to do anything but drive over Russell with a bus?
10. I smell a rat. With 6 years of experience with Russell, I begin to detect his typically underhanded politics.
11. I decide to go for the shot in the dark. I call Russell out... here on this blog and on CCP, and I accuse him of being "teacherjudybanks" and "Judy Banks," facebook persona.
12. Next morning, Russell, who is a faithful follower of this blog, has made any mention of the "Judy Banks" persona disappear from his Facebook page.
13. Equally, there is no mention on the "Judy Banks" Facebook page that Banks posted anything on Russell's "Wall." In short, visually and on the surface, there is no proof that Banks ever posted anything on Russell's campaign Wall. It's simply... vaporized. In fact, if I hadn't anticipated Russell's actions (he is rather predictable) by getting te screen capture of all of this, there'd be no evidence of a "teacherjudybanks" - Russell facebook connection at all.
14. Further, "teacherjudybanks" seems to have fallen silent on the newspaper website.
15. That, of course, brings us to "alexisclassic," another pro-Russell, anti-Hinton scum-spreader.
16. Records indicate that this "alexisclassic" person registered at the same time as "teacherjudybanks."
17. I pointed out the similarities of the two personas. Of note is that the "teacherjudybanks" persona immediately stopped posting on the Columbian web site, but believing he hadn't been figured out, Russell, using the "alexisclassic" identity did one last slash and burn attack.
18. I posted the similarities between the two, and I tied Russell to both.
19. "alexisclassic" hasn't posted since.
So, there you have it. Two very outspoken and opinionated identities, suddenly silent. One completely vaporized off Russell's Facebook campaign Wall, as is any mention of her posting to that Wall from "her" own Facebook page.
If these identities were real, would they just go away, quietly, into that dark night?
Would they just suddenly stop posting? Would Russell have removed any mention of Judy Banks from his Facebook page if Banks were real?
Of course not.
But instead, he panicked and tried to cover his tracks... and I caught him.
While this case is completely circumstantial, it is more than enough to convict.
So, for those of you reading this who don't believe I have "proof" of anything, feel free to keep thinking that. But then, short of a confession... the kind of confession this "Godly" man, who had been "changed" by the "birth of his daughters" told me he had undergone... SHOULD be publicly making to take responsibility for his actions... many of his supporters would refuse to believe how badly they had been taken in by this huckster, and not accept ANY evidence.
What you, the reader, believe or don't believe is up to you. But the facts speak for themselves, and there's only a few available conclusions.

So, on the comment section of the Columbian articles, it appears that "teacherjudybanks" is, in fact, Jon Russell.
In the past, I've found myself attacked personally by Russell using the persona "The Black Hand." Russell has an image, you know... an image of a faithful, church going, God fearing man. So, in order to foster that image, he can't come out in public and address these things. But under the cloak of anonymity (the kind this very newspaper seems to have had such a fuss about) why, the gloves have come off.
Here's a link to the comments from "Banks." Mysteriously, "Banks" came into being on July 28th with the article "Sprawling 18th District yields crowded ballot for House seat" and every comment since has been to bash Rivers or myself, or to pump up Russell.
Now, given that so few people not connected to Russell's campaign directly or indirectly have commented for Russell, I can see why someone of Russell's mentality might build a sock-puppet and use it to pump themselves up.
But as a tactical matter, Jon, the next time you do this, you really should spread the love around a little bit, and have the sock puppet you've built from the ground up comment on something besides those things that YOU care about. Otherwise, it becomes the first clue that the sock puppet probably is, in fact, you.
I found it odd that someone who neither knew me or of me would be so vitriolic about me. That typically goes against what I believe to be human nature. How could someone suddenly start posting like they were completely familiar with every aspect of what's going on in this campaign... at this late date? Where were they before this? What kept them from being this involved before?
Then this happened: Looking at Russell's Facebook page, this little wart in his field of clover popped up at around 3 or so yesterday afternoon:

So, I had to ask myself: how is it that this "Judy Banks" person posted on Jon's Facebook and Jon just HAPPENED to be there at the SAME TIME, to respond to the post in question?
Well, it's really easy if you're the same person.
So, I took a quick look at "Judy Banks" 'friends' page, to see if there's any local connection.

And what do I find?
I find that "Judy's" first friend claims to be a member of the Democratic National Committee. I find that Judy has "friended" the gay front group, "Human Rights Campaign Seattle." I find that with one exception, there is no local connection at all. I find that "Judy Banks" apparently doesn't have any family members or local friends on Facebook.
That seemed just a little odd.
So, over on Russell Watch, I fire a shot in the dark, suspecting the truth and thinking I could flush Jon out like quail, since he's not the brightest fellow and so politically inept, and I call Russell out. I allege, point blank, that Russell is Banks and Banks is what amounts to Russell's sock puppet.
Then I call it a night.
And what do I find when I get up?
Why, the post by Banks, screen captured above, has magically disappeared off Russell's Facebook! And of equal interest is the fact that not only has "Bank's" post been removed from Russell's FaceBook, but so is the notice that "Banks" even posted on Russell's Wall, a notice that would stay up even if Russell had removed it.... UNLESS...
Unless he accessed the Banks page and removed that from "her" page as well.
See, this is known as trying to "cover your tracks." It's kinda like what Russell's been doing with his fake degree, or his effort to cover the tracks of calling his wife a "Doctor" in the Vancouver Business Journal, among other places.
So, without the screen captures, there's no proof that any of this even happened.
Now, there's only so many reasons that Russell would take these steps.
One reason is the obvious one: that I've caught him dead to rights.
Russell, never the brightest bulb on the tree, folds up like a cheap suit and tries to eliminate any trace of his perfidy. Reminds me of the Nazi effort to cover their tracks around some of their concentration camps towards the end of the War.
But if I were wrong... then why would he take all that stuff down... and why would it have disappeared from both Russell's FaceBook page AND Banks' FaceBook page?
What would anyone else do under similar circumstances if this "Banks" person was legitimate?
It's hard to draw any other conclusion.

This one made me sick: Russell sock puppet comments on his FaceBook page.
I believe that because of the verbiage, and because Russell has assumed fake identities in the past (The Black Hand immediately comes to mind... do a web search on it and "Washougal." I know that Russell was that person because he has disclosed that to at least one friend of mine) and I know that Russell has an extremely hard time staying out of these kinds of things.
Now Russell, of course, has a history of lying; to include his fake college degree and his bizarre and quite proven insistence on referring to his wife as a "doctor" or "physician", his lies to the 18th District PCOs concerning his education and fund raising and his efforts to take credit for the start of the local Tea Party organization here locally.
So, when I see him post something like this on his Facebook page (The same Facebook page where he continues to lie about his education, I might add, and where he manages to leave out his chairmanship of the Washougal City Council Finance Committee during the Sellers debacle, ) I literally had to blow chunks.

Now, it is of note that oddly, Russell is in a position to comment on this "find" at exactly the same time "Banks" posts it.
Sheer coincidence, I'm sure.
Russell posts this from an identity he made up, and then comments on it.

I looked up Banks "friends." Here's a list:
I was quite taken by Adrian Matanza, "her" first "friend."
Among his other talents?
He claims a membership in the DEMOCRATIC National Committee. Sounds about right.
Looks like precisely ONE local person on the list, Assessor to be Van Nortwick. And no one else?
And another little group of interest to "Banks?" Human Rights Campaign Seattle, a gay rights front group.
Isn't that just the tiniest bit strange? That a fringe left nutter list like this wouldn't run away screaming from a fringe right fake like Russell?
So here's a clue, Jon. I don't need your prayers.
I need you to actually get some integrity, honor and courage and start telling the truth.
I need you to be transparent because you want to be and not because I hammered on you for weeks to get you to comply with the PDC law of this state.
I need you to just admit that you went to college, that you never "earned" or "completed" anything there, and that you lied about all of that.
I need you to stop lying about your wife's title of "Doctor."
I need you to take at least SOME responsibility for the debacle YOU helped to make in Washougal City government.
In short, I need you to man up, stop hiding behind a bible like the fake Christian you are, and to begin that long journey towards becoming honorable... if you can understand the term.
But the last thing I will EVER need is for you, or your "designed out of whole cloth" fake friend to "pray" for me.
Good God, is it any wonder that your sort is so universally reviled?
And I need you to put your sock puppet away.
Columbian smacks Russell for using Washougal city council as a campaign prop.
Jeers: To more grandstanding at the Washougal City Council meeting over illegal immigration. This is a legitimate national issue but a distraction at a small-town city council meeting. With little public notice, the council last month passed a motion asking the state Legislature to adopt a law similar to Arizona’s, which is already being challenged in the courts. This week it was back before the council. It’s no coincidence that its most partisan supporter on the council, Jon Russell, is running for state Legislature. Rather than arguing the issue within Washougal’s government, a much better way would be to organize a debate and invite informed speakers from all perspectives.Russell, who previously has whined that nothing in the debacle of the Washougal city council is his fault, now seems to be able to make them do anything he wants, whenever he wants it.
Odd, that.
He's even sniveling on Facebook about it, as are some of his winged monkeys, at least one of them a paid weasel, Gary Wiram.
But more and more people are seeing through the facade of Russell, who seems incapable of accepting either responsibility or telling the truth.
Yeah.... it sucks to be him. But it's going to suck even more when the state's done investigating the fake doctor scam, and the fake degree scam, and all of the other issues outlined on this blog.

Destroying Trust in Government: The Daily News endorses Rivers and Russell.
Apparently proving the old saw that you can fool at least some of the people, some of the time, the Daily News endorsed Jon Russell for the 18th District seat vacated by Jaime Herrera. Of course, the primary endorsement went to Rivers, but the reasoning for that is self-evident, so I won't go into that here.
Clearly, the Daily News was unaware of Russell's foibles (Checking the evidence on this blog, painstakingly developed and completely unrefuted by Russell) which calls into question his veracity and integrity. It's difficult to believe they are or were unaware of his false claims of a degree, or his almost systematic touting of his wife as a doctor (Now under investigation by the State of Washington), his falsehoods concerning the amount of money he'd raised to the 18th District PCO's and his equally systematic violation of this state's Public Disclosure Laws, violations all detailed on this blog. While they do mention Russell's tenure as a city councilman, they also seem either unaware or unconcerned of his deliberate use of that body as a campaign prop, and the results of his abysmal tenure on the body, which includes the loss of $100,000 in city money while he was chair of the city finance committee, the approval of the former mayors expenses in Vegas; and the former mayor's ability to walk all over Russell, without public complaint from him, which he alleges is the true source of these losses.
While they filled in some space mentioning Russell's endorsements, they left out the long list of those endorsing Rivers, available here: http://electannrivers.com/endorsements
It is personally disappointing to me that the newspaper failed to drill down and take a hard look at Russell.... not only by what he claims to have done, but by what he's actually done... which kind of goes far beyond those issues discussed in an editorial board.

So, Jon finally got around to changing his "about Jon" page on his campaign website.
Now, instead of saying this:

It says something a little more cryptic, where along with some oversights and deliberate failure to provide ALL of his background, Russell has changed it from the picture on the right to the following verbiage:
Education Thomas Edison State College (Trenton, NJ)
No mention is made of any kind of degree. That's progress of a sort.
Russell's FaceBook page about his education remains unchanged:
He doesn't HAVE an "AA" or any other degree you understand. But then, that's why the Columbian said something about him being "less than forthcoming" about his education. Also of some interest to me is what Russell has left off his "about me" resume'.
You see, Russell says he's been "chairman of this," or "chairman of that."
But it seems he left off his chairmanship of the city finance committee. You remember.... during the Sellers debacle while $100,000 disappeared?
I wonder why that is?
He also left off his effort to jack the Vancouver Port taxes sky-high where he made almost $10,000 to pass the biggest local tax increase in our history. Nope. That's no where to be found.
Of course, that effort was a successful as his congressional run. In short, it was a disaster.
Man. These are hit pieces that write themselves!
.
Odd. One of Russell's scummier elements stopped by and:
LOL. Hey Kelly, lets talk about you and Ann for a while http://yaddayaddah.com/ Your[sic] such a tough guy....Your[sic] a joke. - AnonymousDude (Or dudette?) it's actually "you're."
Well, it certainly takes the right kind of courage to leave an anonymous post on an enemy's blog, doesn't it?
The problem for Russell and the scum surrounding him is that I'm hardly a "joke." Were my meager blogging effort here a "joke," why Russell and his slimeballs wouldn't be paying any attention to little ol' me...
... would they?
This, of course, is a classic example of the fine art of knocking someone off message. And for the Brown Shirts supporting Russell, they're too dense to realize what's happened here. Russell and his band of Nazis are so far off message it can't even be pumped to them through a hose.
Jon and his "servant loser" message doesn't play. When you market yourself as some sort of Christian and then act like your politics are from the sewer... as Russell has done ever since he arrived here... the biblical act tends to run a little thin.
For me, personally, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. That these weasels have made an abortive attempt to imitate my "Watch" blogs is flattering, but it's also indicative of a complete lack of original thought... and original thought has been conspicuously missing from Russell's campaign.
You see, I'm not running for anything... ever. And, unlike Russell's minions, no one is paying me a thing to write what I write or do what I do. They may feel free to spend all this time and energy beating on me all they want. But the fact is that none of that does a thing for Jon Russell, except to make him look like small-minded, whiny little bitch. someone who can't win on the issues... and someone who is getting hammered for reasons he doesn't even begin to comprehend.
Maybe those hit pieces coming out will help explain it to him a little better.
I've gone after Russell since he announced for Congress 13 months or so ago because he represents a cancer on the political scene. You see the kind of people drawn to him... the type that embrace his lies and deceit and double talk... the type that look the other way in the face of his self-aggrandizing dishonesty.
I don't. And I won't.
Yes, today it sucks to be Jon Russell or any of his clown posse.
But you know what?
I think it pretty much sucks to be Russell or any of his herd every day.
.
Gee, Jon.... I am SOOOO sorry to hear that....
"....mired in multiple controversies of that council and has been less than forthright in describing his academic background."Yup. That's got to be tough for you and your Winged Monkeys.
Paying people to spout lies for you is rather unbecoming, don't you think?
"less than forthright." Doesn't that mean you've been lying? Why yes... I think it does.
Tsk, tsk.
Monday, July 26, 2010
So Jon Russell continues to lie about his education.
His lies about his wife being a doctor. His lies about how much money his campaign collected. His lie about his efforts to oppose the megacasino. His personal lies about me. His lie about being responsible for Stacy Seller's departure.
But most puzzling of all are his continuing lies about his education.
Russell, ever the self-destructive type, whined to the Columbian about my blog's disclosure that he was lying about having a degree.
When the Columbian checked out his story, imagine their surprise when, lo and behold, it turned out that Russell... didn't have a degree... of ANY kind.
And, when confronted by the proof that I was right in calling him out for lying about his degree, what was Russell's response?
"I've always said I've earned my degree," he told the Columbian. "I've never said I obtained my degree."
Is that the kind of double talk that makes people hate politicians.
The ONLY way to "finish" your degree is to actually "OBTAIN" your degree. And, in this case, the "degree" in question is the lowest you can get from a college: an AA degree, not the real degree of a Bachelors or 4 year degree.
In this instance, Russell couldn't even get that. The fact is that Russell does not have a degree. And that he may have 60 hours, that doesn't mean he's completed the requirements for a degree, which does mean more than just some number of hours.
For those who don't have one, to get a degree requires strict requirements as to what types of hours for general requirements that all students have to take to get a degree as well as specified classes in a major to get the degree in question, unless it's in the ubiquitous "General Education" associates.
Still, Russell claims he has an AA from Thomas Edison.
Initially, Russell claimed an AA in political science. Russell's problem?

Edison doesn't offer an AA in Political Science.
So, he claims a degree the school doesn't offer. And even after being caught in a lie, Russell still makes that claim on his campaign web site.
You see, this is the part that just goes beyond explanation.

Russell has been lying about his education; he's still lying about it on his campaign website, his campaign FaceBook page.
The question is this: Why? Why lie about it in the first place? What difference does it make? I mean, I get that all of the other candidates save one are more educated then Russell. But how many of you have ever marked a ballot thinking, "I'm not voting for that guy because he doesn't have a college degree?"
But if you go over to Russell's on line voter's guide, what do you see?
You see this.

And that's one of the major issues I have with Russell.
No.... not the fact that he doesn't have a degree... but the fact that first, he'd lie about it, and then second, take no action to change it... as if it was still the truth.
And that's troubling to me. If Russell will lie to us about something like this... if he won't respond when he's caught lying... what else has he lied about... and what else WILL he lie about?

Russell attacks Slade Gorton, Jaime Herrera AND the Tea Party?
Why would he do something so stupid?
Because his campaign is a train wreck. And when you're so far behind in every conceivable way, lying (a pattern he's worked hard to establish) is all you've got left.
One of the letters attacks Ann Rivers for taking the stance that is the basis for many in the ranks of the Tea Party. Russell claims in one of his moronic letters that according to Battle Ground School District minutes, Rivers "distanced herself from the Republican Party."
Jamie Herrera distances herself from the Republican Party with every speech by attacking it, and idiot stick Russell has ENDORSED her:
Yet, several times now, Jaime readily criticizes the very party she seeks support and votes from, lastly at the Leadership Clark County forum where she expressed admiration for Barack Obama in that he made health care a “priority” while the Republicans completely failed on any health care issue. So, in the hypocrisy strewn world that is Jon Russell, it's OK for Ridgefield Barbie to positively trash the GOP; tell us what a great job Brian Baird has done, and then thank her fellow empty suit in the White House for Obama care... and Russell has no problem with that?
At previous forums I attended she criticized Republicans for issues ranging from border control to poor congressional performance, once stating Republicans losing control of both houses of congress in 2006 “was a good thing.”
It is the non-responsive, non-visionary GOP made up of people like Russell that Rivers, myself and millions of others are "distancing" ourselves from. Rivers sees, however, that change must come from within. I see that change coming, and a major part of that must be to keep scum like Russell out of any position of responsibility within that party, least his disease of lies, exaggeration and a complete lack of vision spread.
So, there we have Russell AGAIN, under the guise of letters to the editor that he or one of his minions wrote and had somebody else sign, attacking BOTH Jaime Herrera AND the Tea Party.
Brilliant.
And then, this idiot attacks Slade Gorton... the chief (one of the few, actually, of any substance) endorser of Herrera. And what is is Slade? What does Slade do?
He's a lobbyist.
So, there ya have it. Not only is Russell a stone cold liar... but he's a stone cold political moron.
Here's some advice, Jon: Get your uneducated ass back in school and LEARN something. Then come on back.
I'll still be here, hammering on you like a drum. But you'll possibly be a little smarter about it.
May be.

Jon Russell's Lie of the Day: Russell's cowardice and lies continue: Disavows ANY blame for ANYTHING in Washougal.
In short, Russell apparently believes his blog readers to be too stupid to make up their own minds.
In today's episode, Russell, who neglects to mention that he was chair of the Washougal City Council Finance Committee, and therefore responsible for the review of EVERY financial aspect and expenditure of the city, spews the following:

Washougal Mayors Scandal
Question
Was Jon partly or fully to blame for the financial scandal that brought down the former Mayor?
Background
This is an accusation was made by Clark County Politics Blog (The Ann Rivers Campaign Attack Blog). The Blog Author Kelly Hinton is Ann Rivers long time political consultant.
Answer
No. As City Councilman, Jon was there when former Mayor Stacee Sellers was under investigation about the missing $100,000 of income to the city. He assisted the State Auditor by signing off on search inquiries into multiple bank accounts associated with the former Mayor. He successfully led the charge to have her removed from office when there was no doubt that she had falsified documents detailing the revenue from the events she had put on for the city. The former Mayor reimbursed the city for her lavish trip to Las Vegas before the expense report ever crossed Jon's desk.
Jon has made great strides in Washougal since our former Mayors’ departure: he has cut property taxes, implemented a new whistle blower protection policy, passed E-verify to keep tax payer contracts from going to illegal aliens, and deregulated small businesses to help them create jobs.
This is an accusation was made by Clark County Politics Blog (The Ann Rivers Campaign Attack Blog). The Blog Author Kelly Hinton is Ann Rivers long time political consultant.Russell, of course, fails to mention (because he's very big on leaving facts out along with lying about his education and his wife being a doctor) that I was using CCP to pound him like a nail while he was doing so a terrible job of running for Congress. So, while it serves some purpose to lie about what my blog is, or who I am, it's more in keeping with his complete lack of integrity, well established by his previously mentioned lies.
Previously, Russell lied about me by calling me "a 'paid contract employee' of Ann Rivers.
Now, he's lying about me being Rivers' "consultant."
While Russell has paid two people for consulting... poorly.... Ann hasn't paid me a thing.
I am hammering on Russell because he has proven himself a liar. I am hammering on Russell because he refuses to take responsibility for ANYTHING, as amply illustrated by his worthless effort here. I am hammering on Russell because he portrays himself as a conservative, while failing to mention that he made thousands in his effort to jam the largest local tax increase down the throats of the people in the Port District by working FOR the Port in THEIR efforts to jack up OUR taxes.
I'm looking forward to his excuse for THAT little mercenary effort.
So, he lied when he called me Rivers' paid contract employee. And as much as I appreciate the promotion to "long time political consultant", the fact is that Rivers is an excellent consultant in her own right. She doesn't need MY help to beat Russell like a rented mule.
Let's be clear here: Because Russell engaged in low-life activity like asking me for Pam Brokaw's social security number shortly after his arrival here to screw up SW Washington for the House; because he lies with alacrity, because he exaggerates at an unbelievable rate, because he continues to violate the Public Disclosure laws of this state... I would be writing this blog... this way... if I had never heard of Ann Rivers... just like I was thumping his grape before Russell finally figured out how bad he was getting his butt kicked and switched to his fall back position when he announced for the 18th District, yet another little fact, like so many OTHER facts... that Russell chooses to ignore.
Getting to his moronic response to the question at issue as he continues to destroy trust in government:
No. As City Councilman, Jon was there when former Mayor Stacee Sellers was under investigation about the missing $100,000 of income to the cityAs Chair of the city finance committee, it was Russell's voluntarily assumed DUTY to stay on top of the money.
Did he? Where is it? HE DOESN'T KNOW.
Incompetence isn't a really great campaign plank, Jon. Really.
He assisted the State Auditor by signing off on search inquiries into multiple bank accounts associated with the former Mayor.WOW! That must have taken DAYS of hard work.... imagine, someone like Jon ACTUALLY SIGNING FORMS!!!
Unbelievable. Make sure you put that on your slim jim.
He successfully led the charge to have her removed from office when there was no doubt that she had falsified documents detailing the revenue from the events she had put on for the city.Gee. My recollection is that Sellers resigned.
ANOTHER lie, Jon? How is it that you lie so much on a site called "fact check the web?"
Kinda scummy, really.
And that's the whole point of Russell's unfitness for ANY elective office.
In THIS post, he lies and exaggerates over what HE, Russell, has done... while striving to completely avoid any responsibility for anything that happened.
Russell is the classic, old-style pol. No lie he won't tell... no credit he won't take.
The former Mayor reimbursed the city for her lavish trip to Las Vegas before the expense report ever crossed Jon's desk.ANOTHER LIE?
This is what RUSSELL HIMSELF SAID in an article by the Columbian:
Russell, HIMSELF, according to the newspaper, SAID HE DOES NOT RECALL WHETHER HE SAW THE DETAILS OF THE LAS VEGAS TRIP EXPENDITURES.Here's what the Columbian buried today about Russell's little meat hooks being buried in this particular pie:
The people responsible for that oversight are members of the city council. Three council members — Russell, Lou Peterson and Paul Greenlee — make up the finance committee tasked with approving city employees' and officials' receipts and spending.
The expenditures are first submitted to the finance department, and then go to the mayor for approval, Russell said. Each week, the mayor sends the finance committee members e-mails with the accounts payable receipts and statements for their review and approval, he (Russell) said. Sometimes the statements have details of specific charges, sometimes they only include the employee's name and how much they are to be reimbursed, Russell said. Unless the committee members ask to see the details of those reimbursements, oftentimes they don't know the specifics. And many times expenditures are approved as long as they fall within the amount included in the annual budget, he said.
Russell said he does not recall whether he saw details of the Las Vegas trip expenditures.
"It's not at all a perfect system," Russell said.
The committee members do not meet to discuss the expenditures; that practice ended several years ago in favor of council workshops, he said. Instead, members are told to go to Sellers with questions, Russell said.
"We have been told by the mayor not to talk to department heads to get answers, that everything has to go through her," he said.
The use of city money to purchase alcohol was questioned by the committee and reviewed earlier this summer by the city council. Sellers was notified that the practice was prohibited by city policy and she reimbursed the city for the cost of alcohol charges, Russell said. City officials were not available to comment on the amount of the reimbursement.
"She was under the impression for some reason that it was permissible," he said. So, Russell KNEW about the booze... but then claims he DIDN'T RECALL whether he "SAW SPECIFIC DETAILS OF THE LAS VEGAS TRIP EXPENDITURES?"
It's not JUST that Russell lies... but that he does it so badly.
So, Jon... here ya go. Keeping you off message has been easy because you give me so much raw material to work with.
Jon has made great strides in Washougal since our former Mayors’ departure: he has cut property taxes, implemented a new whistle blower protection policy, passed E-verify to keep tax payer contracts from going to illegal aliens, and deregulated small businesses to help them create jobs.See, it's this kind of idiocy that provides just another element of the many into the flawed make up of a megalomaniac who thinks he's actually accomplished anything.
The "strides" this clown has made is to continue to use the people and government of Washougal as a campaign prop.
Sellers made Russell pee his pants. Russell had ample opportunity to put a stop to all of this, and instead, what did he do? Did he go public? Did he contact the AG?
No. He did nothing.
Look, Jon... I get that I smacked you silly in my letter to the editor in The Reflector. I get that had to hurt. But no one made you become an incompetent political mercenary who would sell out any conservative principles for a pay check, like you did when you worked for the Port.
You did that on your own.
Sooooo, keep lying, stud. And I'll keep beating you like a rented mule.

Russell's lie of the day: he is STILL claiming a degree; this time an "AA"
Education Info
College:
Then, after he was busted by the paper in addition to me, he switched to this:
It is this kind of thing that Americans feel is so despicable in politics today. And the problem, of course, is that when a politician is deliberately misleading as a part of his campaign, how can anyone believe they won't be as misleading or more if they're elected? We don't need to look beyond Jaime Herrera as an example. She lied to the commissioners; lied about not wanting any other job, lied about her job with McMorris; lied about fund raising for Bush, and the people behind her appointment, which had nothing to do with the process, knew all that and it made no difference to them. They wanted a puppet they could control... and they got one.
And what did we get for that?
Someone who sold us out for the SEIU. Someone who who sold us out to the democrats to help them vaporize $229 million. Someone who moronically believes that Brian Baird was beyond criticism. A clueless, vapid, waste of time who only has one concern: herself.
Russell exhibits many of those same characteristics.
Yeah, I know: the specifics are different. But the underlying motivations are the same.
Otherwise, Russell would have no reason to lie... a series of lie that indicate to me that he is afraid we'll see the real Russell.
Well, I've seen it. And that's why I don't want him elected to anything that will impact me.

The Russell Lie of the day: Jon STILL says he "finished his degree."
This is the image of his campaign website when all of this broke... and it's the image still there, even though Russell doesn't even have an AA degree and CERTAINLY does not have a 4 year degree.Jon, you were caught lying. You are STILL lying. Isn't it time to stop?
Don't the people of Washougal deserve better? Or have you forgot about them already as anything but a campaign prop?

Richard Carson expounds on Jon Russell.
Now, I disagree with the idea that somehow, any level of government is constrained from commenting either in support or opposition to the laws of another state. Carson, unfortunately, seems to have remained silent on the idiotic boycotts by the various municipalities and even at the federal level, boycotting Arizona because they stepped up and took the appropriate measure to slap the fed for their failure to protect their southern border.By Columbian Politics (Columbian Staff)

This week Washougal city councilman Jon Russell succeeded in winning city council support for a resolution endorsing Arizona's tough new immigration law. The vote was 5-2.
That didn't sit well with Richard Carson, an independent candidate for the same 18th Legislative District seat Russell is seeking.
"It is a sad day when a state legislative candidate uses his political office to get votes," Carson said in a statement. He noted that the resolution specifically “encouraged state representatives in the 15th and 18th legislative districts . . . to sponsor and enact immigration law similar to law in Arizona.”
"The problem is that Jon Russell is running for the legislative office in the 18th District," Carson said. "So he used his position as a Washougal city councilor to attempt to get votes for a state legislative office. So much for integrity! What else would Jon do to get elected?"
At the council meeting, Russell, who sponsored the resolution, argued that illegal immigration affects even taxpayers in small cities like Washougal by putting a strain on services such as public safety, health care and education.
Carson said he supports Initiative 1043, the so-called "Respect for Law Initiative," which will require E-verify enrollment by every public and private employer in Washington State.
"Securing our borders is the job of the federal government," Carson said. "Arizona knows this . . . I would suggest that Jon Russell needs to do more than propose self-serving city resolutions. I would suggest he come up with an original Washington solution. After all, this is the state he wishes to represent."
-- Kathie Durbin
That said, Carson is, of course, absolutely right: Russell IS using his office to gin up votes for another election... and chances are, the rest of the city council is going along with it because they hope they can get rid of him.
And that's just sad.
Instead of doing the business of the people, Russell is doing the business of getting elected to a job that will ultimately result in his kicking of Washougal to the curb.
The people deserve better. And that's just one of many reasons why I will never vote for Russell for anything.

Jon Russell supporter trashes Jaime Herrera in the Reflector!
Here's the letter, tho.... read it yourself.
Who would Jaime Herrera serve?
Where did Jaime Herrera get her campaign contributions from? Here is a little breakdown of where it is coming from.
Results of 48 cash contributors for $22,975:
$12,775 from out of state for 56 percent of the total;
$300 from District 18 for 1.3 percent of the total;
$22,675 from out of district for 98.7 percent of the total;
$4,775 from PAC’s (special interest) all out of district, most out of state;
$5,000 from unions including SEIU for 2008
$100 from her home town Ridgefield or .004 percent.
All of this information can be found on the Public Disclosure Committee’s website.
So stop and think for a moment. If Jaime Herrera had gotten reelected, where do you think her interests would be? Judging by where most of her money is coming from, I would have to say that she might not have District 18’s best interests in mind. With the many issues that matter most in our area, we need someone in the District 18 representative position that will go to bat for us and not vote for the interests of someone that lined her pockets. Money sometimes has a way of changing people in ways that might not be the best. We have no way of knowing if Jaime will be this way but from the writing on the wall it looks like it could more than likely happen. This is why I urge you to join with me and vote for Jon Russell. Jon will reduce the size of government and stand with our best interests in mind and be strong for us during the difficult times ahead. Thank you for your time.
See, it's this kind of despicable crap that Russell is known for.
He was a pathetic fund raiser while he was running for Congress, and he's a pathetic fund raiser now. So all a clown like this can do is rely on the politically ignorant to send in letters he provides for them as if they were their own in a desperate effort to change the subject. Why he would have one of his minions stupidly write a letter that attacks Herrera for doing the same thing Rivers did.... But then, are we to be surprised by someone who lies about his education; lies about his wife; who uses his city as a campaign prop would stoop this low?
What's that? He DIDN'T write this about Herrera?
It was, instead, a lame attack on Rivers?
Oh.
Never mind.

Victoria Taft/KPAM 860 AM Blog weighs in on Russell's integrity issues.
Lew Waters, one of the bloggers at Victoria Taft's blog has weighed in on the increasing crescendo concerning Jon Russell's integrity problems. It speaks eloquently for itself.
Washougal Council Member & 18th L. D. Candidate Accused of Claiming An Academic Degree He Does Not Have
Washougal Council Member & 18th L. D. Candidate Accused of Claiming An Academic Degree He Does Not Have
Jon Russell, Washougal Republican City Council Member, Mayor Pro Tem, former candidate for Washington’s 3rd Congressional District and now candidate for Washington States 18th Legislative District seat being vacated by Jaime Herrera has been accused in both the Columbian and on Clark County Politics blog of laying claim to a degree he does not hold.
Jon Russell’s degree
Both the Columbian and Thomas Edison verify it: Russell's claim of a college degree is fake.
Russell's defense is “I’ve always said I’ve earned my degree. I’ve never said I obtained my degree.”
From a screen shot of Russell’s About Me page on his website from November 2009, I read his claim of “Jon’s experience in politics started as he was working on his degree in political science first at Vincennes University and finally at Thomas Edison College in Trenton N.J.”
His About me page, effective July 6, 2010 says, “Jon’s experience in politics started as he was working on his degree in political science first at Vincennes University and finished his degree at Thomas Edison College in Trenton N.J.”
Calls to Thomas Edison College confirm he was never awarded a degree.
Left unsaid in the Columbian post are allegations that he has claimed his wife and co-owner of Columbia Gorge Medical Center in Washougal is a "Doctor" and a "physician" when she is in fact an advanced Registered Nurse practitioner.
